Are You Dealing with Government Data Deletion?
Did you know that some U.S. governmental data is at risk of being deleted or has already been deleted? For example, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Census Bureau, the Office of Justice Programs, and more have had pages taken down (Singer).
To help you keep up with the rapidly shifting information landscape, Rasmuson Library has put together a guide called the to keep track of federal data rescued by archivists and librarians across the country.
This growing guide provides archives and databases of government websites, data, and alternative sources for freely available government data.
If you have any questions about finding and using archived data or existing data from the federal government, please contact your department’s liaison librarian or the reference desk at AskRasmusonLibrary@uaf.libanswers.com
