Nanook Recreation fall group fitness

Nanook Recreation is offering a variety of fitness classes for the fall semester. We will offer some familiar programs such as Intro to Strength Training, Intermediate Strength Training, Intro to Olympic Weightlifting, Mat Pilates, Outdoor Bootcamp, and Indoor Cycling. The NSF I-Corps Site program: Customer Discovery

At Center ICE, we provide a six-week National Science Foundation Innovation Corps Site (I-Corps) program to accelerate academic research and startup business projects that are ready to move toward commercialization. Through the I-Corps program, teams complete 15 – 20 interviews over the six weeks. The closing date for the next cohort is 5 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 3.

UAF is requiring that all individuals interested in submitting an appropriations request to the Congressional delegation complete the Google request form. This past week I participated in some of my favorite events at UAF, welcoming students to the start of a new fall semester. All week, hundreds of new UAF students came onto campus from across the state and around the world to start their educational journey. Each one of them took a unique path to get to this starting line, and each one of them will make the UAF experience their own. This year's incoming first-year students are arriving at UAF at a time of great transition and opportunity.

Our various campuses from Dillingham to Fairbanks and everywhere in between are teeming with the energy of students, faculty and staff. It is a great time to be a part of the UAF community. Construction on the new UAF Student Success Center will kick off on Monday, Aug. 21. Contractors from GHEMM Company, LLC will erect fencing around the south side of the Rasmuson Library to serve as their staging area. The walking deck around the library will also be closed.
